I finally gave in...

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

Hello friends! I started ordering a few card kits from Simon Says Stamp after seeing some of their clear stamp sets and I finally caved and got a subscription. I really love these kits!
I finally had a break in assignments and had time to dig out my March Kit (a birthday gift) and created a few cards for the Anything Goes Challenge.

Here's a look at the Flower Friend stamp set I used and it's available separately in the store @ Simon Says Stamp.

MFT Stamp Club Challenge

Monday, April 29, 2013

It's Monday friends! A start of a new week and a fresh start for my family this week. After a really long time of being unemployed, hubby has a job! I am so hopeful that things are really going to turn around for us. It's been so hard. I don't really share to much personal stuff on my blog but today I am making that exception because I know someone will identify with this post. Having a partner out of work is really difficult. There is depression, worry and a constant uneasy feeling of how you are going to make it week to week.

So today is a new start. I am full of hope and I am happy. I just know it's going to be a great week!
Now for the crafty stuff...

I had some time to craft it up this weekend so I created along with MFT for the Wednesday Stamp Club.

Here's this weeks sketch

Here's what I created

I love this new WBD Cupcake Cutie. She's just adorable!

You still have time to create for this challenge. Simply head over to the MFT blog to find out what you need to do. There is a prize to be won too!

Thank you for stopping by!

Paper Posies May kit reveal!

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Yay! It's Friday. What are your plans for the weekend? I have a few classes tomorrow and that's about it. I like it when the weekend is left up to our choices of what to do don't you? I can hardly believe it's already May. That means today...

I'm pleased to share the May Paper Posies kit with you today.

The May Paper Posies kit can be ordered here. You can sign up as a subscriber or just make a one time purchase of this month's fabulous kit. I suggest the sub as you save $$ and every Paper Posies kit it loaded with the latest and greatest products from your favorite manufacturers.

Here's a look at what I created with this month's kit.

Tattoo Party Favor

I love using my Unity April SMAK kit on my layouts. The butterflies were created using the negative image from a Papertrey die and Sharpe marker.

I added some sequins since they are trendy right now.

First Ride

Love the Jillibean Soup Chilled Cucumber Soup collection that's in this month's kit.

The Elle's Studio tags were fun to use along with the butterfly pins from Maya Road.

Celebrate

I used a Papertrey Ink Sentiment and some sequins from the $ bin at Mike's for this card to match the awesome confetti paper from Lily Bee Designs.

Smile

This card was a SNAP with Unity's Just a Little Clicky stamp. I stamped the image onto the patterned paper from Lily Bee and then used silver embossing powder to bring out the image.

Finally my calendar page for May

I have an extra project I created with this month's project, a Maya Road Journey tin. It's not completely finished so look for that project later this month but here's a peek.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Birthday fun with MFT

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Hello friends. Hope you are having a fabulous morning. Mine is full of optimism for hubby. Hoping all goes well and he lands the job he is hoping for. It's been a rough couple of years for us and I am hoping some of that positive Karma I continually put out into the Universe will come back to us. He had a slight snafu yesterday but we are hoping for the best and looking forward to good news. So fingers crossed and prayers sent up!

OK enough reality, now for something crafty...

Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's sketch challenge at My Favorite Things.

Happy Birthday

Supplies: Fancy Pants Park Bench 6x6 stack. Fiskars ballon punch. My Favorite Things Western Sentiments stamp set. Heidi Swapp Color Shine Teal. Cuttlebug numbers embossing folder. Studio G yellow chalk ink. Eyelet Outlet bling strips.

Even though I don't have too many of the MFT dies and stamps, I still enjoyed creating along with this week's challenge!

Hello friends. Every morning I really enjoy brewing my little cup of happy so when I saw this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger inspiration I had to create something fun!

Here's a look at this week's inspiration

I knew I had some Unity stamps in my stash that would be great for this challenge, so I went digging...

Simply Spring and Unity's April SMAK kit

Saturday, April 20, 2013

Good morning friends! It's so beautiful here in So Cal this morning. The weather is starting to get warmer and the winds are dying down which makes me want to pack up the kids and get outside. What are your weekend plans?

I shared this layout on the Unity blog last Saturday and wanted to share it here too. I love creating with my Unity SMAK kits and Simply Spring is one of my favorite new releases from We R Memory Keepers.

Spring

I used several images from the April SMAK kit on my layout. The circle grid image was easy to stamp and cut to create this border under the Good Times image.

This circle image is my favorite in this month's kit.

I thought the Good Times image would be great on a card. I paired it with some Color Shine mists from Heidi Swapp. I absolutely love these mists!

It's easier to create with stamps on your layouts that you think. I find that the images help me tell the story of my photos, are fun to use and easy try different techniques with. You can find out more about Unity SMAK kits here

I was on a mini vacation this past week from assignments and babysitting and got to focus 100% of my time with my sweet girl.

We hung out at the park and had play dates after school with her bestie Vivian.

We had a lot of fun this week together this week.

That's it for today...I hope you get to make something fun this weekend...and enjoy some time with your family.

Have a creative day.

Wonder of Watercolor: A Moxie Fab World Challenge

Friday, April 19, 2013

Hello friends! I can't believe it's already Friday. I've been enjoying the quiet of my house this morning and creating along with the Moxie Fab World Wonder of Watercolor challenge. I haven't ever tried this technique so I was really interested in giving it a try.

Thankful for your Friendship

Supplies: Simon Says Stamp white cardstock, Anna Griffin embossing folder, Papertrey Ink stamps, Celebrate it ribbon, Simon Says Stamp Sentiment.

I checked out some videos from Hero Arts on YouTube and decided on which watercolor technique I liked. I chose to stamp my image with clear embossing ink and powder on watercolor paper. Then I used Tim Holtz distress Inks and watered them down with a Mini Mister. I them used a paint brush to apply it to my image. I really enjoyed the process and the result.

You can create along with this challenge by visiting the Moxie Fab World blog here.

I look forward to seeing your creation!

Tuesday Trigger: Magical Magnolias

Saturday, April 13, 2013

Happy Saturday! It's a bit gloomy and cold here in So. Cal today. What better excuse to create along with my favorite challenge! I am working on several projects in the studio today and I have to admit that when I lose sight of my inspiration I simply put the assignment aside and create something for fun.
Today's "fun" is a card I created for the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. Here's a look at this weeks Trigger.

Magical Magnolias

Here's my card inspiration from this image.

Thanks
Supplies: Heidi Swapp Color Shine Primrose, McGill Silhouettes & Shadows Flower Punch Set, Simon Says Stamp Lots of Thanks sentiment set. Queen and Co. pink bling, Papertrey Ink Quatrafoil Cover Plate, Spellbinders banner die, Cuttlebug Juli's Garden.

I loved using the Quatrafoil die as a mask with the Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists. The image was not as crisp as I wanted but it made for a nice background. I then used some white iridescent paper for the punched flowers. The Silhouette & Shadow punch is easy to use and with some foam adhesive, becomes a beautiful 3D accent for this card.

You still have time to create your take on this weeks Trigger. Head on over to the Moxie Fab blog to find out all the details on how to create with us.

Thanks for stopping by!

Better than I imagined!

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Hello friends! I love making 5x6 sized cards and I love that I can finally make my own envelopes to go with them using the new We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. I was so excited to finally get this new tool from We R!

I was blown away at how easy this tool is to use. I was able to create my envelope in less than a minute! I totally love love that the punch is also in the board.

I Love You card featuring We R Memory Keepers For the Record collection.

Here's a closer look at my card.

Now I can pop this in the mail to someone special. Remember when you are creating off sized envelopes like my 5 x 6 1/2 size, the Post Office does charge you more for postage. It's not much more but I just wanted to mention it.

Thanks for stopping by today!
